The issue of jail reimbursement was heard before the Capital Facilities and Government Operations Appropriations Subcommittee this afternoon. County officials from all over the state packed the room waiting patiently for a chance to share testimony. And, after the staff answered some questions about the program, the subcommittee co-chair announced he wouldn't be hearing any public testimony and moved to the next item on the agenda.

In years past we've been given time to share our perspectives on jail reimbursement as it currently stands and ended up getting far less appropriated than we'd like. We'll see if today's approach turns out better or worse for us, but it doesn't look promising.
