| Plan on Appropriation Cuts to County Government |

You wouldn't believe it from reading this blog, but there is more than vacancies for county offices going on at the Capitol. The Legislature has already
set the budget and UAC has an idea what appropriations might be coming counties way.
The big news is with jails. The Legislature has appropriated $6 million for jail reimbursement (down from $6.5 million last year). What the Legislature
failed to do, however, was add additional funding for jail contracting.
In health and human services, county programs were cut by an approximate $2.5 million from last year.
Look for a complete recap on appropriations after the session.
