The Utah Association of Counties provides several services to Utah's counties. UAC's major service to county government is its lobbying efforts in behalf of the counties before the State Legislature and the U.S. Congress. With all 29 of Utah's counties participating in UAC, it truly is a "unifying voice for county government."

Other programs protect the tax base of counties, defend counties against legal suits, offer centrally assessed appraisals and appeals services and sponsor cash flow borrowing programs.

A lending library has publications available to members including the UAC Newsletter, Directory of County Officials, a legislative bulletin and the Utah Counties Fact Book.

UAC staff is available to provide technical assistance and advice. Through UAC, members can learn such skills as solid waste management, budgeting, personnel supervision, legal defense and comprehensive land planning. UAC connects county leaders with experts in various fields who provide counsel and are paid through UAC funding arrangements.
