Utah Behavioral Healthcare Committee Mission and Goals

Mission

To enhance service quality and capacity, financial viability, and quality of care under the direction of Local Authorities.

Goals

  1. Develop and provide data, methodologies and information that supports and enables the following:
    • Consistent, seamless statewide services that are high quality, easily accessible and cost effective.
    • Evidence based treatment and collaborative care to achieve client recovery.
    • Sharing of specialized services and information.
    • State and local policy and management decisions for the benefit of the system.
  2. Enhance the image and reputation of public mental health and substance abuse systems with public policy and funding bodies, public social service, health and educational systems, clients and families and the general public.
  3. Develop funding requests and revisions to policies and laws that address statewide growth in unmet client needs, improve system effectiveness and allocate financial responsibility equitably for current and future needs.
  4. Develop and support the organizational capacity within UBHN to respond to the needs of members and Local Authorities, achieve organizational goals and deliver agreed upon member services and products.
