Millard County Commissioner Daron Smith, who is currently serving as first vice president, will run unopposed as the president of UAC for 2010. Utah County Commissioner Larry Ellertson, the current second vice president, will also run unopposed to fill the position vacated by Smith.

UAC members will have their choice as to who fills the second vice president and secretary positions. Those running for second vice president are Salt Lake County Auditor Jeff Hatch and Utah County Treasurer Robert Kirk. Running for Secretary are San Juan County Clerk/Auditor Norm Johnson and Wasatch County Surveyor Jim Kaiserman.

Voting will take place during UAC’s Annual Convention, November 11-13 in St. George. The winners will be announced at the Closing Banquet of the Convention.

Officials holding these four positions, along with the past president, comprise UAC’s Executive Committee. This committee, along with the Executive Director, has oversight of the organization’s daily operations. They meet regularly throughout the year and report to the Board of Directors all activities and proposed policy changes of UAC.
