UAC Awarded Opportunity Zone Grant

This morning, Scott Turner, Executive Director of The White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council, announced a $399,804 EDA grant to the Sorenson Impact Center at The University of Utah and the Utah Association of Counties to create a rural Opportunity Zone and Recovery Playbook that will support local efforts to drive capital investment into Utah communities and serve 5 Associations of Governments, 21 Counties and 16 Opportunity Zones in Utah.

Through efforts in your local communities, these are opportunities and growth that Utah shows at the national level. Working together with you, we can continue to see our teamwork reach the national stage.

The announcement was made in Brigham City and attended by county, state, and congressional officials.

Scott Turner, Congressman Bishop, and Val Hale of GOED are joined by the Box Elder County Commissioner, the team at Sorenson Impact, and UAC staff.
